At 1,200 square feet, Central Drugs’ Dufferin store is one of pharmacist manager/owner Russell Beales’ larger dispensaries in Nanaimo. It combines the best of both worlds: quick and comprehensive prescription-filling, plus all the amenities (from personal service to an array of health care products) normally found in large pharmacies.

Like Beales’ other stores, Dufferin is owner/operated. “This is important to customers because it means the owner is always present in the store to address issues or problems,” he says. “He’s the decision-maker who is at the direct service of customers.”
