Ammonite Falls

The falls cascades off of a sheet of rock that is filled with Ammonite fossils, thus the name Ammonite Falls! Ammonite Falls is named for the fossils that inhabit the stack of sedimentary layers of rock kept slick by the falls. A brief foray into the rock matrix in the Benson Creek Falls Regional Park. The parking lot for this trail will be on Jameson Road, off of Kilpatrick Road. This hike will be about 2 hours round trip, and is relatively moderate, with one rope at the end if you want to go all the way down to the falls.
